Burger with beetroot and horseradish sauce

The burger recipe we're offering is unique yet simple and delicious. Originally from Sweden, it uses beetroot to create classic medallions that mimic the red color of meat. Beetroot burgers are served hot and accompanied by a horseradish sauce.

To prepare this recipe you can use horseradish powder which you can find in all supermarkets in the vegetables section. spices, or the fresh one you buy at the fruit counter in fruit and vegetable markets.

Ingredients

  • 500g grated beetroot
  • Mixed herbs (thyme, parsley, rosemary)
  • 100 gr oatmeal
  • 3 eggs
  • Salt and Pepper To Taste
  • 1 teaspoon oil for frying

Ingredients for the horseradish sauce

  •     2 tablespoons horseradish powder
  •     50 ml cream
  •    1/2 Lemon
  •    Salt and Pepper To Taste.

Preparation

  • First, prepare the sauce: in a small bowl, combine two teaspoons of horseradish powder, 50 ml of cream, the juice of half a lemon, salt, and pepper. Mix everything together and refrigerate.
  • Now let's move on to the burgers: in a bowl, grate the beetroot, add the lightly beaten eggs, herbs, oat flakes, salt and pepper.
  • We obtain a smooth and homogeneous mixture and put it in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes.
  • After this time, take the dough and shape it into a classic hamburger with your hands.
  • The red color of the turnip will make it look very similar to a meat burger.
  • In a non-stick pan, add a teaspoon of oil and brown the burgers on both sides.
  • Serve with salad on a plate accompanied by horseradish sauce or in a sandwich.
