In Sagron Mis, a small village in the province of Trento, in the Primiero Valley, No one wanted to stay, and the population had dwindled to fewer than 200. But now the trend has been felt, and a young couple from Emilia Romagna has come to this splendid village, attracted by the generous grants available to those who decide to live here.

The initiative, known by the title “100 euros to move to Trentino”, relating 33 (small depopulated Trentino municipalities, not just one, among which there are:

  • Vermilion
  • Rabbi
  • Peio
  • Rumo
  • Tesino Castle / Tesino Walls
  • pimp
  • Mis Sagron
  • Vallarsa
  • Valdaone
  • Luserna / Lusérn

To obtain the contribution, however, a radical and non-transitory choice must be made, which includes:

  • purchasing and renovating a house
  • its intended purpose as a primary residence
  • the commitment to live there permanently for many years (usually at least 10)

Importantly, there are no income restrictions to access this opportunity; all that's required is a desire to move to Trentino, to areas that are experiencing a resurgence and where the quality of life has always been very high. Each beneficiary will receive an average grant of €50 for home renovations. However, for those working in the more central and historic areas, the grant can reach up to €80, covering up to 40% of the cost in historic centers and up to 35% in peripheral areas. Those buying a home requiring renovation will also be able to receive an additional grant of up to €20, bringing the total grant to €100.

Then there are some side effects. In Sagron Mis, for example, the project worked, not only for the partial repopulation of the village, but also for what it triggered in terms of new investments in the area, with an allocation of 820 thousand euros for the social and cultural revitalization of the village. The funds, made available at the governor's suggestion, Maurizio Fugatti, will be used for the redevelopment of the square and Civic Center and Social Club (500 thousand euros)
